What phone requirements does DJI OM 4 have?
- DJI OM 4 utilizes Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0 and works better with phones that have Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0 or above.
- Android: Android 7.0 or higher.

Can I use DJI OM 4 with a phone case?
It is not recommended to attach the ring holder to a phone case. Phone cases, however, can be used with the magnetic phone clamp.
Does DJI OM 4 require balancing before use?
No. The new DJI OM 4 has improved motors, which means you don’t need to balance the gimbal before using it. When you use the magnetic clamp, please place it in the middle of your phone. If you do encounter any balancing issues, please perform the Gimbal Auto Calibration and the Horizontal Gimbal Adjustment in the DJI Mimo app.
Do DJI OM 4 and DJI Osmo Mobile 3 support the same phone models?
No. DJI OM 4 supports a different set of phone models, which can be found here. In addition, the DJI OM 4 also supports heavier phone models up to 290 g.
What’s the difference between DJI OM 4 and DJI OM3?
DJI OM 4 has a magnetic quick-release design, stronger motors that support heavier phones, and a lighter weight.

Can I detach the Magnetic Ring Holder and attach it to my phone again?
No. The sticker on the back of the ring holder is disposable and can only be used once. The Magnetic Phone Clamp can be mounted onto your phone again.
Will the magnetic design of DJI OM 4 affect my phone?
No, DJI OM 4 will not affect your phone. Do not place DJI OM 4 near other magnetic objects, such as bank cards, pacemakers, and hard drives.
How to mount the magnetic phone clamp or magnetic ring holder to DJI OM 4?
Attach the magnetic phone clamp or magnetic ring holder to the gimbal. Avoid pinching your fingers and ensure the phone is mounted correctly.
What do I do if the DJI OM 4 gimbal is visible in the frame after attaching a phone?
- Adjust the position of the magnetic phone clamp and move it away from the camera until the gimbal is excluded from the camera view.
- Try to increase the wide-angle ratio on your phone.
Do you need adhesive to attach the magnetic ring holder to a phone?

Does DJI OM 4 support ActiveTrack, Timelapse, and Pano in Portrait orientation?
Yes. DJI OM 4 supports the above intelligent modes in portrait mode.
What’s the difference between DJI OM 4’s ActiveTrack mode when using the front and rear cameras?
While the DJI OM 4 is front and rear cameras perform similarly in terms of tracking, only the rear camera can track a person’s profile and continue tracking them, even if the subject faces away from the gimbal.
Can the DJI OM 4 follow pets and children using ActiveTrack?
Yes, however, the precision of ActiveTrack may vary between different phone models.
What are the differences between DJI OM 4’s Timelapse, Motionlapse, and Hyperlapse modes?
The DJI OM 4 timelapse mode captures the passage of the time from a fixed mounting position. The Motionlapse mode adds motion to the timelapse, producing more dynamic video.
